We really liked this campground. What a treat to have full hookups and cable TV at a State Park. We spent 4 days here, on the cool windy side, but had a very pleasant experience. The campground was about three-quarters full Saturday, and by Monday, the last night they were open, there were 5 of us left. The walking trails are well marked and maintained, the playground nice for the children, and seemed as if the fishing was good also. I knocked off one point for the $5/night/pet fee, and although the bathrooms were extremely clean, I didn't understand why they needed to close them for cleaning between 8-9AM? It seemed an odd time to me. It was a very nice place to stay.
This is an extremely nice campground. The staff is very nice and polite. We stayed for 2 nights, mainly to go to the RV show in Hershey. It was chilly at night, and our furnace was not working properly, so I used the bathhouse for my showers, and it was the nicest, cleanest facility I have ever seen, outside of Fort Wilderness at Walt Disney World. The campground itself is very quiet,. There is some road noise which is unavoidable being so close to the highway, but nothing that a fan wouldn't drown out though. I will surely stay here again.
The overall facilities are nice. Previous posts are correct, if you are arriving from the north the entrance is poorly marked, with the sign after the driveway entrance. The staff in the store were very nice, and the facilities were clean and inviting. The main bathhouse was fine, the small one near our site not acceptable. The playground, pool area seemed very nice for the children. The reason for my lower rating was that our site, A79, was extremely poor. We have a very large PUP, opens to 28 feet. The site seemed like an afterthought, was way too narrow, so much that we barely got the slide out around trees and still be able to keep the truck off the road, and could not put the awning out on the front side at all. Our first night we had to leave the picnic table behind our camper, otherwise it felt as if we were sitting on top of the people next to us. It was just way too small for a trailer our size. Since we were there only for 2 nights, I didn't bother with moving the second night. But it seemed as if every other trailer site had plenty of room, so I would stay again, just say NO to site 79A. Plenty of shopping areas and restaurants within a short drive.
